REDWOOD DECKING

Description

Coast Redwood Decking (Sequoia sempervirens)

It’s hard to beat Redwood when you prefer all-natural materials for your new deck. Redwood deck wood boards are lightweight but have tremendous shear strength. Redwood is durable, beautiful and warm, with unmatched resistance to insects, rot and decay. Redwood deck wood is denser than Western Red Cedar, so it is less likely to splinter.

Redwood has beautiful red-brown color with very tight grain and minimal knots. Our redwood decking is approved for Woodland-Urban Interface (WUI) use without restriction, and is Class B rated for flame spread environment, which adds stability. Redwood is denser than Cedar, so it is less prone to splintering or splitting.

Like all natural wood fencing materials, Redwood deck wood will take on a silver-gray patina. To preserve the natural color of your redwood decking, a light sanding and re-applications of  penetrating sealer every year after will preserve the rich red color and striking good looks.

Redwood decking is also an excellent choice for homeowners looking to balance performance with sustainability. Sourced from responsibly managed forests, redwood is a renewable material that offers long-term durability without the need for chemical treatments. Its natural stability helps minimize warping and shrinkage, making it easier to install and maintain over time. Whether you’re building one of many custom redwood decks or upgrading an existing outdoor space, redwood deck boards provide the strength and visual appeal needed for lasting results. In addition to decking surfaces, redwood can be used for redwood siding, railings, benches, and custom design features—creating a cohesive, high-end finish that enhances both functionality and overall property value.
