YES, OUR PEOPLE ARE STUPID
We know this because a Yelper flamed us a while ago, saying how stupid our guys are because our surfaced lumber was too thick. He’s been buying lumber for years from Home Depot and he knows it’s supposed to be ¾” thick. Ours was 13/16″. So we completely ruined his project and he’ll never buy from us again. (We should be so lucky).
BUT I GUESS WE HAVE FRIENDS ON YELP
He took his post down pretty quick, when a different guy on Yelp reamed him, called him a moron who doesn’t know what professional woodworkers know: that 13/16” is the standard thickness for surfaced hardwoods from professional suppliers like Valencia Lumber. That additional 1/16” is very important to the pro: it gives them more leeway to surface it further, sand it, etc. depending on their needs.
Our Hero went on the say the guy should STFU and go back to the home center where he belongs (he wasn’t that polite).
FACT IS…
…we’re very happy to help out anyone: professional, hobbyist, artist, weekend warrior. Everybody’s welcome to enjoy our high quality and great selection.
I guess we need to a better job of letting everybody what we have and why it might be different (we think better) than the materials you get at a place like Home Depot. WE DON’T TRY TO BE THEM AND THEY DON’T TRY TO BE US.
